El edificio del Reichstag en aguadas

Hace un tiempo le propuse a una buena amiga hacer un dibujo para ella y la pedí que eligiera un elemento que quisiera tener dibujado.

Ella eligió el edifico del Reichstag (el Parlamento alemán) y a ello me puse.

Al principio pensé en hacerlo tal cual era, pero tras ver imágenes de su aspecto actual y recordando una vieja litografía que había visto hace años, decidí hacerlo tal y como era antes de los bombardeos del s.XX (con las diferentes guerras y cosas de esas) por lo que me puse a la tarea de encontrara fotos o dibujos que mostrasen detalles de la estructura, los frontones, las columnas, las ventanas, etc. Costó bastante tiempo, pero al final lo encontré.

Ahora quedaba decidir que aspecto darle, pues un dibujo de un edificio que tiene otro aspecto desde hace más de 50 años, no podía ser algo con aspecto nuevecito, por lo que al final me decanté por envejecerlo.

Primero tracé varias veces el boceto a lápiz, para aprender de memoria las proporciones y los detalles, pues no quería hacer trazos a lápiz en la lámina definitiva y no me apetecía usar el sistema de mesa de luz, calcando el acabado. Quería hacerlo directamente.

Tracé primero las líneas con las plumillas sobre una lámina relativamente ligera para que tuviera una textura como de papel levantado. Después apliqué las aguadas en capas sucesivas y una capa de betún de Judea muy rebajado, para dejarlo envejecido, que retiré después con un paño limpio para eliminar los excesos. Tras eso, lo puse a secar entre dos paños de algodón, con peso para alisar el papel, que había quedado lógicamente arrugado por la humedad del proceso de tintas y aguadas.

Tras eso quedó con el aspecto y la pátina que quería.

Some time ago I suggested to a good friend draw a picture for her and asked her to choose an item that would have drawn .

She chose the Reichstag ( the German Parliament ) and I got it .

At first I thought of it as it was, but after seeing pictures of your current look and remembering an old lithograph had seen years ago, I decided to do as it was before the bombing of the twentieth century ( with the different wars and stuff these ), so I set to the task of find photos or drawings that would show details of the structure , pediments , columns , windows, etc. . It took some time , but eventually I found it.

Now decide which aspect was give , as a drawing of a building that has another side for more than 50 years , could not be something that looks brand new , so in the end I opted for age it .

First I drew repeatedly pencil sketch , to memorize the proportions and details , not wanting to pen strokes in the final film and I did not want to use the light table system , tracing the finish. I wanted to do it directly .

First I traced the lines with the pen on a relatively light blade that had a raised papery texture . Then I applied the watered down in successive layers and a layer of bitumen heavily discounted , to leave old, who retired after a clean cloth to remove any excess. After that , I put it to dry between two pieces of cotton , weighing to smooth paper that had been crumpled by moisture logically process inks and gouaches .

After that was the look and patina I wanted.
